I was already able to outline this film beforehand: London in the swinging sixties, the use of pop music to characterize and "fill in" the period, Cockney accents, calm dialogues full of menace interspersed with short scenes of extreme violence, and the energetic portrayal of an ultimate method actor whose charisma obscures the extreme disgust of the main characters from those who aren't paying close attention. Not bad in itself, and Hardy is really great too, but as the umpteenth gangster movie this is completely unnecessary for me, and what was wrong with The Krays (1990) ? Tiny "uncredited" bit part for Paul Bettany.

Excellently made film that captivated me on almost every level. The Blu-ray version splashes on the image so beautifully. The sound is also excellent. The nightclubs radiate a wonderful atmosphere as if you were in the middle of it. The soundtrack also charmed me and I heard Duffy come by too.

The film has a little bit of everything. Here and there a bit charched, sometimes a bit too thick. Everything looks very authentic. Matje is beaten outside nicely houses are nice and noisy in short, everything has been thought of. Film has small traits with Tarantino, but gradually becomes a lot more serious. I thought the glossy role was reserved for Emily Browning who, strangely enough, comes from Melbourne. So not in one of the cockney districts of London. It is striking that you mainly hear her voice in the background well into the film. Well done. And once married to a "gangster" means that you almost never get rid of it. Because this film is based on truth, I will see if she also ended her life in this way.

The biggest bugger is of course his gay brother. His freedom actually meant the downfall of Reggie (Tom Hardy). Thought Ron was a special character in this film, but nicely played

Mediocre film that has some nice moments but mainly comes across as a rudderless whole.

The beginning is reasonable with the Peaky Blinders-like streets, the era in terms of decoration and music and the story around the Kray twins. Yet there is also the story that is not particularly interesting and the double role that does not come into play. Hardy puts Reggie down well, but when Ron loses he loses track several times. What exactly the nuance is around Ron is not entirely clear. The imbalance between Snatch-like humor on the one hand, and the idea that Ron may have to be scary, doesn't do the film any good, because both don't work. Furthermore, the film lacks the necessary atmosphere and tension. Choices made by the director and production that don't really work out well. There are several big fights to be taken for granted and Carter Burwell's music is very nice.

Legend lacks a lot, the main thing is that it is a good film. Nice for once and as far as I'm concerned quickly forgotten.
