Very funny.

Comedy is not listed as a genre, which is justified in itself, but this is one of those films that is very self-conscious. A bit of black humor is certainly there, but not in such a way that it undermines the horror and thriller elements.

Above all, it is stylish in a self-confident way. Hoffmann knows very well what he is doing, I think he also has enough genre knowledge and just knows that he can add something unique to a genre that lives on simple copies. This film succeeds in that.

The pace itself is fairly slow, so Hoffmann builds up the film meticulously. It soon becomes clear that something is about to happen, what will happen is not exactly a surprise, but the road to it is still quite enjoyable. Occasionally Hoffmann does let go of the reins and the blood flows freely. It doesn't get very gross and/or nasty, but some moments are brutal enough.

A film to watch with a tasty gray. Doesn't take too long, rolls out nicely and contains some memorable moments. Hoffmann doesn't get to the level of true genius, but he's not that far below it.

3.5*

Nice!

In the line of Don't Breathe, with some extra craziness. Quiet build-up, in which you soon notice that things are not quite right there. Especially that son with his earring was a huge creep, but excellently portrayed in this film. The hot-tempered, spoiled type who kicks around wildly when he doesn't get his way; like in that slightly gay erotic scene. From then on, the pace goes up considerably, after which a somewhat now situation emerges. It's nice that as a viewer you don't immediately realize who exactly can be trusted and who can't, mistrust predominates. In that sense it is also a relief that not everyone turns out to be bad here. Very funny entertainment with a dark edge. 4*

This one falls into the category of "a lot of blood little story" and that's nice! Don't expect great acting or a rich plot with twists and beautiful dialogues. But a lot of guts, over the top shouting and swearing and even more chopping and sawing, chainsaw all beautiful weapons are present so nice sense at zero. And enjoy a murderous party.
