“Come on in Bella. We won't bite.”

This second part disappoints after the entertaining first part. Twilight wasn't a masterpiece, but Stewart and Pattinson made a good duo and saved the film. In this second part they share almost no scenes and that is New Moon's death blow. Lautner takes the place of Pattinson and there is no chemistry at all with Stewart. And the acting is worthless. A running time of over two hours is also ridiculously long for this kind of film. The cinematography is again brilliant and the ending is decent. Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning make everything better. Almost then...

New Moon is the sequel to Twilight (2008). Beginning with the waning full moon was beautiful, then a kind of poetic dream: a beautiful scene with Grandma (and later Edward) in the flower field! Cinematography: similar to the 1st film, also images of the forest from the air, more outdoor scenes in the woods, but fewer indoor scenes at school. Cast: same as Twilight. Again, I thought Bella came across as very stiff.

Plot: In this second part, the Cullen family is moving because otherwise it will be noticed that they never get older. Bella is devastated and this was well displayed with the camera rotating and the changing seasons through the window! Finally, Bella befriends Jacob, who gives her comfort, but he too has a dark secret. I found this second part weirder than the first part. I can still imagine vampires, but as soon as werewolves come into play, I give up. Still, of course, well done with the special effects!

I will still watch the next parts because I want to know how it goes on and how it ends. But once again I'm sure fantasy and mystery are not my favorite genres.......

In this sequel to Twilight, Bella [Kristen Stewart] celebrates her 18th birthday and declares she's ready to "turn" into a vampire. Love Edward [Robert Pattinson] keeps the boat off and even breaks off the relationship "to protect her." Jacob Black [Taylor Lautner] shows off his muscular, bare-chested for the first (but not the last time) in an attempt to convince Bella he's the better choice. Adult viewers be warned, though the clumsy sexual metaphors here and there are good for a chuckle and Michael Sheen lends some gravitas to his role as Aro, the Volturi leader. If you really want to know what those are, you have to see this. Next: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
