"He's found her."

Carol Anne suffers greatly from the problems she has had with the spirit world. She now moves in with her aunt and uncle and attends a special school. The school's psychiatrist thinks she's doing mass hypnosis. However, a ghost is still chasing her and this time it's the mirrors who take the brunt. Fortunately, she is still in contact with the medium Tangina.

Just like the second, this one is also a third time a faint rehashing of all the ideas and concepts from the previous Poltergeist films: the medium with her irritating child's voice, Carol Ann, who has to be rescued from another dimension. It's not scary anymore and even the mirrors that replace the TV can't save it. I hadn't seen this film yet, but my fears have come true: it's not much.

Liked it better than part 2. A little more normal and less hysterical and fake acting. The events were also "scarier" than the 2nd part.

Still, in my eyes it remains flimsy and very laughable. I notice a clear difference with the horrors of the past and the horrors of today.

If you compare this film with the worst horror of our time, the latter still wins for me, because the acting, the effects and sounds are just better in my opinion.

Well, it's still nostalgia.

It seemed stiff to me that Gary Sherman Page not found 3.5*, Dead & Buried (1981) 4.0*) would deliver a sequel that would be considerably less than the second Poltergeist. Where that film was still safely within a familiar environment and actually did exactly what you expect, the situation here moves to a different setting with new family members. That is certainly worth something. Number of memorable moments, including Tangina's death, with mostly nice effects; the mirrors are really cool.
