"You're invited to a very important date."
This sequel to the original story begins at a big party, where Alice, now a 19-year-old girl, is about to be married off in front of hundreds of boring, bigwigs. Alice doesn't feel like it at all and she decides to escape, after which she quickly comes into contact with a talking, white rabbit to her shock and surprise. The rabbit tells her to follow him and he also tells about their previous meeting. The rabbit is convinced that Alice is the girl who has previously been to the magical 'Wonderland' and experienced the most exciting and beautiful adventures there together with him and the many other creatures. Alice, however, doesn't know anything about it anymore. All the creatures in 'Wonderland' are anxiously waiting for Alice, because they need her help. But can Alice help? And how will she return home?

Great Burton.
Also not quite perfect, this film adaptation of the classic fairy tale. I've seen that one before, and this one is quite different, but follows the same lines. In that respect, that's all fine, because remakes don't necessarily have to be the same.
Burton knows how to create a beautiful fantasy rich atmosphere and does this well. However, I find Wasikowska only mediocre to lead a leading role. Carter also plays a pretty bland role and the film is also pretty bland in its humor.
Visually it is all fine and nice and imaginative, but in terms of acting less so. Few people really know how to play their part with passion. In addition, the romance is also just dull and the ending is certainly not for me.
All in all a decent movie. Great to look out for.

Because we're going to watch Alice through the Looking Glass soon, we'll rewatch it. Still about 8 years ago, so some things were a bit further.
The film looked nice and visually it was also mustache. Especially the cat and the red queen were very successful, that dog-like monster was disappointing.
The story knows how to entertain and Johnny Depp could charm me more now.
Still nice to revisit this one.
