"Some criminals are made in prison"
A family man is sent to jail where he soon learns the intricacies of prison life. As a result, he is transformed into a kind of gangster. Once out of prison, he is forced to commit a major and violent crime in association with a rival gang.

Going the wrong way
Forced to do that again.
A glimpse into prison life and gang life. Not very innovative, but due to the jumps in time and the excellent protagonist, it has turned out to be a fascinating film.

Funny, this film is hardly believable, has quite a few clichés and has everything to be considered terrible by me (just like Law Abiding Citizen had). But strangely enough, I had a good time. Couple of good actors, nice tempo, beautiful images, occasionally nice and raw and a very decent atmosphere. Then I quickly forget and forgive some stupidities in the script. Not that it is world cinema now, but the film helps you through the evening. 3.0*.

Good, solid movie. Coster-Waldau is a lot more convincing as a tough guy than I expected. The obvious accusation that the film wants to bring forward does not hinder the viewing experience. And the plot has some really nice finds.
Personally, I thought Shot Caller was a bit unclear here and there. A little more "explanation" in certain scenes would not have been a luxury, but oh well. I had a great time.
