Virginie Efira is on top form in this emotional drama about an empathetic woman with an unfulfilled desire to have children, while her biological clock is ticking. Efira's scenes with little Callie Ferreira-Goncalves are sublime. A very nice film with an appealing story and execution.

Teacher Rachel Friedmann [Virginie Efira] finds her true love in Ali [Roschdy Zem], who shares custody of his daughter Leïla [Callie Ferreira-Goncalves] with his ex-wife Alice [Chiara Mastroianni]. Rachel becomes attached to Leïla, but continues to feel like a third wheel on the wagon. Could a child of their own take that feeling away? A pressing question for a woman in her forties for whom the chance of pregnancy is rapidly disappearing on the horizon. Zlotowski's screenplay feels authentic and never goes to great lengths, instead focusing on the everyday moments that have a greater impact on Rachel than she lets on. Efira is fantastic in a role that earned her a well-deserved Lumiere Award for Best Actress in a film that provides a disarming insight into the fears and insecurities many women her age will recognize.

Good film about a teacher with a desire to have children who gets into a relationship with a single father. A quietly flowing drama that is depicted with little embellishment, but is full of beautiful small moments. The main character and her position are well portrayed and Virginie Efira carries the film with ease.
