The beginning is a bit messy and incoherent, but luckily the script and characters manage to captivate along the way, after which the film is very enjoyable. The plot is a bit wacky (abandoned babies are taken from drop boxes and put up for adoption) and not all aspects of the film work equally well, but director Hirokazu Koreeda (who makes his Korean debut here) and the ever-reliable protagonist Song- Kang Ho gradually manage to make something beautiful out of it.
