Simple video. Not good not bad. Truly a mid-range. After seeing the film you already forgot about it.

Easy.

Not entirely unexpected from Netflix that they come up with the safest video possible based on a fairly violent event. Still, I must confess that I hadn't heard much about this particular event, other than the fact that it existed. Never really read anything about it, so hope this movie will provide the information.

Maybe it is, but this 6 Days is as safe as it gets when it comes to cinema. Director Fraser actually highlights exactly the characters that you think will be highlighted in these kinds of films. It makes the film safe and familiar, and therefore quickly less interesting. You already know exactly what will happen, even though they were real people.

Furthermore, this film is overwhelmed by clichés and uninteresting events. You don't get to see much of the hostage situation itself, the tension is hard to find and only the reasonably professional editing and layout help the film move forward. The finale is still nicely shot, as are some sequences in between, but these barely compensate for the content of the film.

Some crew members are acting sadly. Cornish makes a particularly slow impression and is especially tiring to listen to. Strong is still doing well, but he is also a very competent actor. Bell is not necessarily bad, but very boring. His script isn't easy either, so his character is so much within the lines that it doesn't matter much whether he acts well or not.

The film does make a professional impression and it is not really boring, but it is so safe and well-known. Not an ounce of originality or daring. The fact that they want to be against the event as much as possible does not mean that you have to stay within the lines as much as possible. Show us something that might surprise us, instead of this. Missed opportunity.

Little special. The clumsiness makes it unbelievable. I can therefore not imagine that the negotiation process has gone as depicted in 6 days. In addition, Abbie Cornish is downright annoying.

I do believe that the typical way of reporting the real Kate Adie is difficult to imitate. But Cornish does not succeed at all. Because 6 Days hardly wants to be exciting, as far as I'm concerned there is no more than a narrow enough in it.
