Penyalin Cahaya plot
After a drunken photo of herself is posted online, Sur loses her scholarship because she is accused of disgracing the faculty. Sur, however, cannot remember anything that happened overnight. When she attended a college party, she temporarily lost consciousness. To find out what really happened that night, Sur seeks help from her childhood friend Amin, who lives on the school campus and works with a copier.

I'm glad I didn't drop out early during 'Photocopier' (2021). The first few minutes were quite rough on me. Blurry use of color and poor lighting. Cheap sets and no world actors. Even for a 'natural' social realistic drama, it feels like they had no budget for a slick production. Yet the endearing character Sur (Shenina Cinnamon) managed to keep my attention as a young woman whose reputation is shattered by slut shaming. When her grant is withdrawn due to a silly series of photos on social media, she embarks on a quest for answers that transcends privacy. The underlying motives of people in positions of power are more evil than she could ever have imagined. It even provides a few emotional highlights when Sur unmasks friends or finds unexpected supporters in her fight against injustice. 'Photocopier' (2021) thus works towards an emotional hammer blow at the end.
