Pooh pooh. That this will still be produced with dry eyes in 2022. So exhausted, I had to think of the series Full House, or those first grade series. However, with adults in the lead role. And cliche music. Totally illogical story. Which is actually fine, because it's just a movie of course. Only because of all the illogical choices of the characters, it is completely implausible and you cannot go along with the story. The only plus or surprise was an unknown singer named Maluma, who, in addition to very good looks, also produces a somewhat likable smoothy in his short but powerful screen time.

Marry me, marry me, say YES! this movie is so infectious that one of the spectators actually started DANCEING during the end credits. Well, there were only four of us in the room, which does reduce the inhibitions. This really is one of those films where you would say "they don't make them like that anymore", but you're very happy that they still do. J.Lo already gave us one of the most beautiful romantic comedies of the 21st century with Maid in Manhattan and is now expanding this with a beautiful spiritual sequel with Marry Me. A fair amount of suspension of disbelief is required to go along with the premise, but once the romance begins to blossom, it's easy to let yourself be submerged in sugary sweet illusion. Owen Wilson is perfect for the role of the Cinderfella, a somewhat drawling high school layman with a refurbished flat in Flatbush where he lives with his 11-year-old daughter. He is sucked into a world that is not his own, the world of the reggeaton superstars, where no book is ever read again, blond-haired men are really not welcome (a blond chick, to that point) and go to sleep at 10 pm really a mortal sin is. The relationship between Wilson and his daughter is truly captivating and the denouement at the Math Olympiad is almost Linklaterian, in the School of Rock style. And lo and behold, we even have Sarah Silverman in a nice supporting role!

After a number of serious dramas, I was ready for something light. A movie starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Lopez fits right in. It's all very little, although J.Lo is getting too old for this kind of nonsense, as blurp194 rightly points out.
