Pretty amusing film in which Van Damme really excels as a worn-out action grandpa. The story itself may not be very original, but nothing but praise for its implementation. A number of very nice comic excesses, of course with the much-discussed monologue by Van Damme as an exponent. The ending was a bit disappointing, but what preceded it was well worth the effort. 3.5*.

Good film about Jean-Claude Van Damme, whose career and personal life are in a deadlock. Certainly an original film for Van Damme, since it's not about fighting and of course also because he plays himself. The scenes that revolve around his fame are especially striking. Van Damme certainly doesn't do it without merit (great scene also in which he breaks the fourth wall). The plot is a bit messy towards the end, but that doesn't matter.

Ok, JCVD takes a look at himself and puts his life into perspective. Monologue in the film is ok, but I don't think the overall picture is successful. Is a boring long-winded story about a post office robbery that he happens to get involved in. Here and there one goes to a scene about his life, but it has little effect. Color filter intentionally a bit gray, but film also comes across that way. In fact nothing happens... JCVD proves with a monologue that he can do more than just swing his legs, but the whole film couldn't captivate me. It was nice to hear him speak in French.
