X: First Class plot

"Witness the moment that will change our world."

'X-Men: First Class' tells the epic premise of the X-Men saga, revealing the secret history of global events. Before mutants made themselves known to the world and before Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) took on the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men yet to discover their powers for the first time. They weren't archenemies then, in fact they were best friends who, along with other mutants (some known, some new), tried to stop the impending Armageddon. Somewhere in the process, a rift develops between the two men, sparking the perpetual war between Magneto's brotherhood and the X-Men.

Very narrowly enough for me. The first half is clearly better than the second half of the movie. Bacon as a bad guy was a bit disappointing and McAvoy has never been able to convince me. Too smug. Maybe that was part of his role, but I get that feeling with all his roles.. Anyway, it was my introduction to X-Men (want to tackle it in chronological order) and I am curious about further parts, although I promise it doesn't bode well that this one is one of the top rated parts. I also didn't quite like the ending; Could Erik just take off Shaw's helmet all along so Xavier could freeze Shaw? In other words: was it nothing more than a cat and mouse game?. But all criticism aside: it's still nice to be drawn into such a fantastic world . So soon Days of Future Days Past.

Are you sure we can't shave your head?

A new line, a new cast, and what for one, and above all, compared to the first three, a totally different atmosphere that is darker, and tends to be much more menacing, yet there is also a kind of fear and vulnerability palpable.

Back to square one, Erik Lehnsherr, Auschwitz, and this time a step further into its past and origin as far as vengeful nature is concerned. From there we get to see the origin of the X-MEN and what can rightly be called the First Class. The meeting between Charles and Erik, the bond with Mystique, and the first steps to counter the evil plans of captivating arch-villain Shaw, sets the plot, along with many new and old mutants and an old acquaintance like Emma Frost. . Top are scenes like Magneto and the Germans, the final battle with Shaw and the brief moment with Wolverine.

The role of McAvoy is fine, Fassbender is top notch as always, it's Bacon who seems in his element as bad guy Sebastian Shaw. The interfaces with real history are well thought out, in this case the influence around the Cuba Crisis and the subsequent apotheosis where many things come together. Fun as always is the celebration of recognition with the Blackbird, a more prominent role by Hank McCoy, and it must be said that this is the first X-MEN movie with a really strong and difficult opponent in the form of Shaw. Add, of course, the appearance of several beautiful ladies in the form of Lawrence and Byrne and you have a film that scores slightly better than X2.

First Class can rightly be called next level and the best so far.

While Charles Xavier [James McAvoy] and Raven [Jennifer Lawrence] put his energy into a school where mutants learn to use their unique gifts, Erik Lensherr [Michael Fassbender] is in Argentina looking for Sebastian Shaw [Kevin Bacon] for revenge. to take for the death of his mother. Charles and Erik team up when Shaw tries to recruit mutants for his own army after he has developed his own superpower. Shaw hopes to unleash World War III so that he can take over the night. The X-Men get help from CIA agent Moira McTaggert, who has been eyeing Sebastian for quite some time and hopes to bring the government leaders to reason. Captivating prequel provides insight into the special bond between Professor X and Magneto, as well as the causes for the eventual split. Bacon is an imposing villain and the colorful collection of young mutants gives an extra dimension to the already spectacular action scenes.
