Transformers: Dark of the Moon plot

"The invasion we always feared. An enemy we never expected."

After Sam Witwicky graduates, he is unable to find work and that puts a strain on his relationship with his girlfriend Carly. Sam learns that during the first moon landing in 1961, NASA found a stranded spaceship from the planet Cybertron, where the brave Autobots fought a bitter battle against the evil Decepticons. When Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, hears of the spaceship on the moon, he plans a mission to secure the valuable Pillars aboard. However, Sam discovers that the Decepticons have beaten him to it and build a space bridge with the Pillars that will bring an entire army to Earth. Can Sam and the Autobots stop the Decepticons from enslaving humans?

Completely beaten up. Michael Bay should have hit my head with a hammer for 2.5 hours. All effects, no emotion. And the Transformers are a deus ex machina rather than a machine. How many last minute rescues can you stomach in one movie? The typhoid. Forget the "why" question, because Michael Bay doesn't have the answer. He makes the cinematic equivalent of caps lock. And that was my first impression. Now take an aspirin. ouch.

Admittedly, many scenes are really impressive. But it's so much and the content of this film is so little... As if someone has been shooting firecrackers in my eye all the time.

After three films, I am so tired of the Witwicky family. A big mistake to give people the lead roles in a Transformers trilogy. The Transformers are mannequins in the background to make the annoying characters in these movies shine.

Secretly, the Transformers themselves are pretty cool. It's just a shame they don't get any depth at all. The makers prefer to opt for extra screen time of bland characters. Those stupid little Transformers are also so cringe-inducing.

Part four, without the Witwicky family, I believe, seemed like fun. After having seen the first three films again, however, I fear for a dragon of a blockbuster again.

“Years from now they're going to ask us: where were you when they took over the planet? We're gonna say: we stood by and watched.”

A big improvement over the second part. Dark of the Moon is again too long and the humor becomes more and more childish, but the actors do a good job and the action scenes look good. And something of a story has been invented this time. The beginning is especially strong. LaBeouf is good again and Huntington-Whiteley is a breathtaking addition. Transformers guarantees bombastic, mindless and unpretentious entertainment, and that is exactly what you get with this third part. Sometimes delicious.
