"It's not over yet."
Rama (Uwais) decides to return to work after the massacre in the apartment complex to further investigate his finds in the complex. He decides to go undercover to infiltrate the Jakartan criminal organization and find out which other agents from his own corps are corrupt. However, his risky mission continues to endanger his own family, and as he digs deeper to uncover the grand scheme of things, his true identity threatens to emerge.

Still a good deal of progress with part one. Well, the advantage of the claustrophobic apartment building is gone but you do get something in return. In the Raid 2: Berandal there is more story, even more colorful characters and action (especially in the last hours when batboy and hammergirl appear on the scene) even fatter and harder. Only downsides I could discover is that the film is half an hour too long and that in the beginning some action scenes, such as in the courtyard of that prison, are very against the cartoonish. For the rest nothing but praise for the Raid 2 : Berandal.

One of the best action movies ever made? Serbuan Maut 2: Berandal, along with his predecessor, is definitely in the competition for the title for me. Gareth Evans again provides some brilliantly executed action scenes, and what Iko Uwais is doing borders on the impossible again. Coming up with a strong fight choreography is one thing, performing it perfectly is quite another. This second part has more of a story than the first part, but the two and a half hours pass in a curse and a sigh. And more importantly, it doesn't come at the expense of the adrenaline-pumping action scenes.

I also like this sequel less than the first movie. It is precisely the claustrophobic environment of part one that brings so much tension. Still very entertaining martial arts fights with creaking limbs and buckets full of blood, yes, but the story and the extra locations add little and a few small things start to bother. The striking green-blue filter, for example, and the shocking camera work, which is particularly disturbing during the hand fights. They can finally replace those cameramen with ADHD with someone with a steady hand. I also miss the gunfights from the first part. The English voice-over is also poorly done. If the film can be viewed in its original language, with subtitles, then the experience will probably be better. You can also cut a lot in the length of time. The funniest part is the duo hammer girl and baseball bat boy.
