Friendly.

The average is actually very low, but it shouldn't go above 3.0*. The story is still too little original for that and the really cool action is often a bit lacking, although it gets even better in the last 40 minutes.

But the biggest problem with Max Payne is that it often tends to get a bit boring, which is unusual given the style that hangs throughout the film. It is indeed a bit like Sin City, but this one is often a bit more colorful sometimes. But there is certainly the same atmosphere, but Sin Ciry may contain much more violence.

Wahlberg does a pretty good job otherwise. He's not the most intimidating actor, but he does a pretty good job. His character could only be a bit tougher. For the rest nice side characters such as Kunis and then you've had it again.

Some decent action later in the movie. In any case, it looks fine. Visually also reasonably well taken care of, sometimes a bit weak CGI but it looks quite fine. Sometimes very cool camera angles and also often funny and quite original styles throughout the film.

It's not very special, but it has its moments and it all looks pretty nice. The action could have been a bit more prominent and a bit cooler, because now it was still a bit boring at times. But otherwise it's a very decent film.

Reasonable for a layman perhaps, dramatic for a Max Payne enthusiast.

At the time I was looking forward to this film as a gamer who had the game practically from the first hour and played it dozens of times. At the time, incidentally, a groundbreaking third person shooter with new elements for the game industry such as 'bullit-time'. And what a deception the film was because from the outset little of the story remains intact with the characters. Names like Mona, Alex, Bravura and Aisyr's CEO, Horne, make sense just like the fight against the company, yet many characters have been invented, such as Natasha, Colvin, BB, and the motive for murder makes no sense. The ending on the helipad is also a faint reflection of the apotheosis that normally takes place there.

What remains in itself is a decent Whalberg who fits the role perfectly, a fine Kurylenko and Kunis, and above all an appropriate style in terms of dark snowy streets, flipping V-users and a beautiful dark atmosphere that does not look out of place in the film and resembles that of the game. The shooting scene in the parking garage is also worth mentioning. In that regard, it is very unfortunate that it is no longer available.

Max Payne is a movie where I never played the game itself. Apart from that knowledge, the film can stand on its own if you watch it as a layman. Not all that special, but a great viewer.
