"There are a thousand ways to raise your adrenaline. Today, Chev Chelios will need every single one."
Professional hit man Chev Chelios discovers he has been poisoned with 'The Beijing Cocktail' by his rival Verona after the latter learned that Chev had allegedly killed his boss. This poison causes Chev to die if his heart rate starts to drop. To stay alive, he has to get his adrenaline pumping. Chev goes looking for his arch-rival Verona, but in the meantime he also has to protect his sweetheart Eve. The clock is ticking and driven by revenge and adrenaline, Chev embarks on a frenzied tour of Los Angeles.

What a shit movie. Nowhere does Crank get the label comedy and that is understandable: the humor is so bad and unfunny that no one apparently dares to call this a comedy. Also irritating to watch; more styleless mess than stylish action. I found this very difficult to sit through and after three quarters of an hour I had actually already seen it. Recorded Crank :High Voltage from the TV this week and erased it quickly after this disappointing action movie. Not my thing.

How disappointing. Given the high rating, I expected more. A short film, originally filmed and an unusual concept (someone who has to keep his heart rate high in order not to die). But that's about it. Acting is okay, but no more than that. I thought the movie was funny at times. But then no more than 'smile funny'. You can't blame the film for the lack of depth, given its purpose and setup. However, there is no development at all in the film. from the first 10 minutes to the last 10 minutes you are actually watching reruns in a different setting. There is no tension in the film. For me I think a 2 star film, but given the originality I give it half a star as a bonus. So with heels over the ditch 2.5 stars. I would rather have spent my evening on another movie.
