Earth Abides plot
Humanity is nearly wiped out by an unprecedented plague. In the aftermath, as civilization slowly and inexorably crumbles, only a few shattered survivors remain to fight extinction. After months of isolation, Isherwood "Ish" Williams discovers that most of the world has succumbed. Despite his instinct to isolate himself further, Ish decides to take charge and develop a new civilization.

Nice series, certainly not a helter-skelter action. Interesting story with excellent performances. Every now and then there is a threat of cheesiness, but that blows over quickly.
