Call the Midwife plot

The story follows the newly graduated midwife Jenny Lee, and the work of the midwives and nuns at an Anglican convent in the deprived area of Poplar in the East End of London. The sisters and midwives perform various nursing tasks in society. But with about 8-100 babies born each month in Poplar alone, the primary job is to ensure proper delivery of pregnant women in the area, and aftercare for the countless babies.
