After the final, I'll stick to my previous post (and review). The Night Of is definitely a solid series, which excels in the realistic representation of the American legal system, but it never really touched me and in the end a feeling of déjà vu dominates. The themes of this series have been covered countless times in other series, and the development of the plot often felt very clichéd and predictable, with the low point the kiss of Chandra and the Disney ending with the acquittal and the detective who finds the real culprit. Good, but nowhere great. 3*

Strong opening episode, and this level will be held for the rest of the episodes. Exciting and John Turturro puts down a nice character. The rest of the cast is also doing well. Typically a series that you want to see as soon as possible, once you've started it.

Strong HBO series about student Naz Khan (Riz Ahmed), who gets into serious trouble after being invited to a party in Lower East Side NY. The series clearly needs more solid acting and lived dialogues than a conclusive plot, because especially in the last few episodes the makers drop a few stitches in that regard. Certain developments are rushed and characters make atypical decisions. Apart from that, this is very good, with John Turturro in a superb lead role. Beautiful atmospheric drawing and very strong scenes within the prison.
