Student Naz Khan is invited to a party in the Lower East Side of NY. When it turns out that no one is coming to pick him up, Naz decides without asking to take his father's taxi and drive from his home in Jackson Heights, Queens, to Manhattan. His impulsive decision to pick up a beautiful young woman en route heralds a fateful evening. Naz is later charged with a crime he claims he didn't commit, and he experiences the chaos and manipulation of the legal system from within. His plight is complicated by his appearance and status as the son of Pakistani immigrants.
