Colony plot
Set in a near future, Colony centers on a family led by Will Bowman (Holloway) and Katie Bowman (Callies). The family must make difficult decisions to find a balance between staying together and surviving. They live in Los Angeles which is occupied by a force of foreign invaders. While some people have chosen to cooperate with the authorities and take advantage of the new order, others are rebelling and suffering the consequences.

Very entertaining sci-fi series with a somewhat alternative approach. The emphasis is not on the aliens that have occupied the US, but on the fight between 'collaborators' and the 'resistance'. There is actually no mention of aliens this first season. That sounds like a loss, but Colony manages to stay interesting.
After the failed Intelligence, Josh Holloway finally got a great role again. Tory Kittles (starting in films like Frankenfish) also plays a strong role as the taciturn Broussard. The rest of the cast isn't bad either, but the other characters could have been a bit more colorful. Such a Beau, for example, is a huge loss. Could have made a nice duo with Holloway, but there's no chemistry between the two at all, and Beau herself is a boring sack.
From episode 5, the episodes become more and more exciting and there is also more and more hints at the revelation of the aliens themselves. The tension between Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies is also fun. I saw that producer Carlton Cuse wants to tell the story for at least six seasons. Whether that will work is of course the question, but there are plenty of storylines that can (and hopefully will) be further explored. The aliens themselves, The Factory, other colonies in the US etc.

Well what can I say about this. I really liked the series itself, of course there were lesser episodes, but I think they could have stuck to it for another season. Acting is more than fine. Will, Katie Broussard and Snyder were the main characters after all and did a great job. I was looking forward to the end, because you're curious how it ends and the final battle, so to speak. And then comes the disappointment. You are busy with your series and think there are a few more episodes that are going to pop. But no bam series over. And if you then find out that nothing will be done because the money has run out, that is a bit disappointing. All in all a nice series but a bit sour 3 seasons and no end.
