Because [user=22]The Oceanic Six[/user] recommended that I watch this series, I started this a while ago and I certainly don't regret it.
First of all, we can say that Jack Bauer is one of the best characters that the TV world has produced. He owns everything. He works with emotion and at times ruthlessly. Truly a top performance from Kiefer Sutherland.
But David Palmer is also a fantastic character and I certainly count one of my favorite characters. Very strongly played by Dennis Haysbert.
The series contains quite a lot of action, but it never gets boring. The storyline of Jack and David are the most interesting. The storyline of Teri and Kim start to irritate quite a bit after an episode or eight. Too bad, because this wasn't necessary at all. A little less screen time would have been good too.
The series is certainly not predictable and at times is nice and hard. A great season.

First season of the action series 24, where events take place in real time. This gave the series something extra and made 24 a huge success both in America and abroad.
Kiefer Sutherland made his big comeback (albeit on the small screen) after a string of flops on the silver screen. The series was such a success that eight more seasons followed. This first season is certainly a good start, albeit that the series has quite a few plot twists, some of which are quite unbelievable. Unfortunately, towards the end, the story derails a bit. Nevertheless, Kiefer Sutherland plays a good role and the series is exciting from start to finish.
In the supporting roles we see Dennis Hopper appear as the terrorist Victor Drazen.
