Monte Walsh plot
Wyoming Territory, 1892. Winter is just over when cowboy Monte Walsh and his colleagues Chester "Chet" Rollins and young Frank "Shorty" Austin return from a long job. In the meantime, many ranches appear to be closed due to the extreme cold and the other ranches have been sold to a large cattle company from the East. Unemployment is everywhere, but apparently nothing is wrong for Monte yet. Life changes for Monte, however, when an old friend is murdered by Shorty in a robbery of his shop, ranchers everywhere are fired and his saloon sweetheart, the prostitute 'Countess' Martine, is also fired.
