Inspector Amaia Salazar leads an investigation that takes her back to Elizondo, the rainy town in Navarre where she was born. She always hoped she would never have to return to it. Torn by the rational, procedural part of her job and the local myths and superstitions, she must overcome the demons of her past and focus on a fugitive serial killer.

Skinny, this plot. Highly exaggerated too. Thousands of stories like this are written every year; books that sell like hot cakes, but which you usually forget after a few days.
Because the story around the hunt for the serial killer is actually very simple, you get a crazy baker's family as a bonus; such a bakery of course provides additional ingredients in the story: a rolling pin that is used as a murder weapon, a container with flour in which someone is buried, a biscuit that is found on the corpse.. That biscuit must of course be examined again in a lab, because there are several bakers in the region that make such a cookie.
As if that wasn't enough, there is also some mythical creature wandering around in the forest and there is even a large regional fairy tale book that contains it all. It's not scary at all, I think drama would be a better genre description, fantasy .. The only thing I still found a little bit scary is that mother. Looked like Jenny Goeree, with that reformed haircut. But it's not clear why that mother was like that.
It takes a lot of rain and a lot of dark colors to turn this simple story into something creepy.
But otherwise a fine film for an autumn evening.

A nice Spanish detective thriller about a serial killer with a strange modus operandi. Very nice atmosphere with drizzly days north of Spain (Basque Country) where the beautiful forests are also covered with wisps of mist. In addition, some mysticism with the witch, the Basque bigfoot and some cultural information about the cookie.
In addition, quite exciting, nice structure. Obviously in a short period of time it is not that difficult to find a perpetrator as a viewer. There are no real plot twists, the plot is a bit too straightforward for that, but I am still surprised by the quality of the Spanish thrillers on Netflix. A bit slow at times, but the atmosphere made up for it for me. The family intrigue also appealed to me.
