Disturbia plot

"The quieter the street, the darker the secrets...."

After his father's death, high school student Kale Brecht (Shia LaBeouf) becomes grumpy, withdrawn and depressed. After assaulting a teacher at school, he is sentenced to three months of house arrest. His mother Julie (Carrie-Anne Moss) works day and night to make ends meet, but only reaps indifference and lethargy from him. While he's staying at home, he starts to get suspicious of his neighbor: it starts to look more and more like a serial killer. But are these suspicions just the product of an emerging claustrophobia?

“Your not the only one who's watching…”

Rear Window wannabe. But on its own, Disturbia is an excellent thriller. The first thirty minutes is a bit coming through, but after that it all gets a lot better and especially more exciting. Another strong point of the film is the chemistry between the actors.

LaBeouf, Moss, Morse, Roemer, they all play very strong. Roemer is no Grace Kelly, but you won't hear me complaining. With Distubria, director Caruso creates an atmospheric thriller with enough tension, drama and humor so that you are never bored for a moment. Caruso took a good look at Hitchcock.

Seen it a long time ago and now it's time to watch it again. Entertaining film with a good cast. Morse really is a creep; that mat of curls in his neck does it for him. There are a few tense moments towards the end but unfortunately also in this film some stupid choices and predictable moments. Unfortunately. The atmosphere and the environment makes it totally worth it again.

A fine thriller where your neighbor turns out to be a serial killer. In that respect, it is somewhat reminiscent of Summer of 84 (Film, 2018) with a similar plot. The story starts a bit slowly and focuses on Kale's house arrest and difficult period. Luckily, the girl next door is there to give him some distraction.

The accident at the beginning of the film was a bit strange, more like a settlement or attack. Not so. The second part of the film brings a bit more momentum and mystery. I have never seen David Morse in such a role. It went well for him. The thriller then follows the well-trodden paths of Hollywood with the boy who is not believed , the search of the house turns up nothing and the serial killer who is then totaled.

Quite an enjoyable film without being outstanding. Good to have seen.
