Agnes White (Ashley Judd) is a lonely divorcee who is still terrified of her ex-husband Jerry Goss (Harry Connick Jr.), who is about to get out of prison. Recently, she has been receiving calls where no one is speaking and she suspects Jerry. In the shady Oklahoma motel where she lives, she gets to know the paranoid - but sympathetic - Peter Evans (Michael Shannon) through a friend. When she begins a romance with the war veteran, life seems to smile gently at her again. But Peter sees vermin everywhere...

I'm not that excited. The first 45 minutes I found quite dull and strange. The dialogues didn't grab me and I just couldn't get used to the character Peter. Also felt 0 chemistry between the two. The Gulf War story just didn't interest me, nor did Judd's past. It was too bizarre, a complete far from my bed show that I just didn't want to go along with. The acting is quite satisfactory, but it drags along so slowly and derails after a good hour that it gets more and more on the nerves. The subcutaneous was not palpable to me. A movie like this is probably not for me. Couldn't do anything with it.

Pretty oppressive and exciting horror/thriller.
There are quite a few freaky scenes in it 
and the acting is pretty good to call it tr.
The psychological part of the film is also quite nice.
Highly recommended.
