RIP Bill Paxton.

Watching my favorite movie again soon. And so that's this one. This proved that he could also direct very well. I'm usually pretty critical of horror (even though I love it, but only if it's done right and that's often not the case). But this... this is one of the rare horror gems. However, the film has received far too little exposure. Most of the people I showed the film to had never heard of it.

Very pleasant thriller - btw this is not a horror for me - which in the long run did look away. There was enough tension, a nice thriller atmosphere and there was also good acting. When the credits started, I had to rewind the film because it wasn't quite clear to me exactly how the fork was. That has now become clear to me and I thought the ending was very strong for that reason.

Well, watching a movie in the cinema may be nicer, but if something is not clear to you, you are left with questions. You don't have that disadvantage if you watch a film at home, provided you have the opportunity to watch film fragments from it again.

3.5*

Nice.

For a pure horror movie, Frailty might not be the best choice, but if you're looking for a mystery thriller movie with some short-lived horror influences, stop by this one. Frailty is deservedly a film with solid reviews, and Paxton dares enough to stray from the path that this film never really gets boring.

The content of the film is not too strong, but the main advantage is that it all knows how to captivate. Paxton knows exactly what to do and bets on a pretty special character. It is not really insanely acted, but it is a fascinating character who knows how to fill the total playing time of 100 minutes. The children are also doing well.

Cinematically, the film lacks some power. In between we are treated to some nice sequences, but the overall look could have been a little smoother. It's intriguing, but not really exciting and the gruesome atmosphere that the film sometimes tries to work out doesn't really work either. The camera work properly portrays everything, but does not do anything special in terms of movement or framing.

Fortunately, the story is fun and interesting to follow. The chemistry between Paxton and the kids works quite well and the mystery is contained enough. However, as I mentioned before, the main advantage of the film is that it knows how to captivate. The course is interesting and the flow continues well. The 100 minutes are therefore never a task.

Something is missing on the visual aspect to make the film really special, but that doesn't mean that Frailty is a captivating, intriguing and fun film that is sometimes put together differently than you would think. I would say that the best high score for horror concepts is fully deserved. Nice whole. Not perfect, but very entertaining.
