Not too good. It is a mixture of other Spielberg films with a different sauce here and there. Alien being chased by the military and a bunch of teenagers solve the problem. The film is far too sentimental and plays on emotion with closeups of tearful seal eyes. But it does not work. Except for a few seem very good. The alien looks stereotypical.

The young actors do it too neatly, sometimes badly and often unnaturally.

Supertramp is used as soundtrack. Fits in 1979, but that's about all.

Fortunately, there was no sequel where the alien brought his friends.

I didn't like this movie very much. it seemed promising in the beginning but gradually it all became a bit too long-winded and especially too weak. and again a movie with a monster and too dark. bit strange also there was nothing right at the end of the movie with that monster. very illogical ending .never this movie for me!

It will probably have been mentioned here several times that this film is reminiscent of the hit series Stranger things. The scenario is similar with a group of teenagers trying to unravel a certain (paranormal) mystery. Not only the bad guys are the opponent, the police or the army can't be trusted either. Then they just go out on their own. The whole atmosphere of the 80s - as we also see in Spielberg's ET (or The Goonies) - is so nostalgic.

A teenage film as I like to see it, in which friendship is also very central in addition to adventure. Not that everything is so great. It starts well with that train incident, but the unraveling of the mystery at the end with those aliens deserved a lot better in the end.

I quite liked the acting of the young cast and I liked their activities to make a zombie film. It's actually because of these kinds of films that I became attached to cinema as a peer. Nice!
