Good, but not very original movie. Comparisons with the Abyss, Alien, (especially) Solaris and many other sci-fi films (also thought of Event Horizon) are made easy and rightly so. Yet this is also a very good film on its own and that is mainly due to Boyle's (once again) skilful directing. 4 stars for a shitty director.

DOES THIS GIVE YOU QUIET?

I just watched it on DVD at home and was completely blown away!

This is the best thing that happened to me after Blair Witch Prject.

It's not comparison material at all, but I'm talking more about the feeling you can have at the end of the movie.

The impact, visual delights, soundtrack, timing, tension,

Everything is unsurpassed for me.

I read comments about truthful ed

Long live the SF!!

You should view this with grains of salt and not as a universe expert.

And then with Underworld sounds in the sun, Danny Boyle and some great actors, all at a lonely height.

Only downside: it would have been nice to have another 3 quarters of an hour!!

But yes, we also have to bring in our fantasy, that is probably the intention of this director.

I will definitely watch this once a year. (which I rarely do due to lack of time)

Whether this film has borrowed too much from other films, that may be a bit true, but I didn't think about that for a moment during the film.

No, I was more in a dark trip, sucked into the tension and the rest I just mentioned.

If there are people who can't appreciate this movie, oh what a shame!

But maybe those people like Armageddon or Deep Impact?

This film is simply unique and cannot be compared to anything.

The tone is set!

10 years later, still impressive.

Still a very nice movie. Meanwhile, sci-fi is all the rage again, but movies like Sunshine remain rare. It's not a bitter, ugly vision of the future, nor is it a low-budget near-future event that indies like to rave about.

Visually it still looks great, the soundtrack is, as always, a clear added value with Boyle and the international acting company is nice, without feeling very forced. Yeoh and Murphy are favorites, but that's personal preference.

I still think the switch from sci-fi to horror at the end is okay, although it does indeed become a lot more unbelievable. I especially enjoyed the presentation and a genre film that offers what I want from the genre.

4.0* and a extended review
