Sandra Kienzler [Léa Seydoux] is a single mother in Paris with a daughter [Camille Leban Martins] entering puberty, a physically and mentally deteriorating father [Pascal Greggory] who has to be moved from one care home to another. waiting for a permanent place where he can be cared for. In addition, she begins an affair with Clément [Melvil Poupaud], once her ex-husband's best friend. Just ripples along for a bit without ever going into depth, but effective use of locations and the beautiful playing of Seydoux and Greggory take this to the next level.

The plot didn't really appeal to me, but I liked the other films I often made by Mia Hansen-Løve. Now this Beau Matin is also enjoyable in moments, but also more serious in tone and I found the light tone of the director in her other films an added value. Now the drama is more serious, but fortunately well presented. No grand gestures but extremely realistic and recognizable at times. This is also due to the good playing of Seydoux and Greggory as her father. The moments between them are endearing. The film doesn't do much bad either, shows a bit more of an atmosphere than a story from A to Z and I like that, only the characters didn't really interest me. And neither does the plot. Also visually a bit sparse without any real visual power that Mia Hansen-Løve often showed in her other films. I can't say much bad about the film, but it simply doesn't appeal to me. 3.0*.

Beautiful film that touched me deeply. Mia Hansen-Løve always makes something special and Léa Seydoux plays the stars of heaven with few resources. Also prove that you don't need a 'big drama' as a filmmaker. Just stick to everyday life, then you'll have enough drama. Take this Sandra (Léa Seydoux), single mother with a daughter and a demented father she has to keep an eye on (beautiful role by Pascal Greggory). She has several jobs and a sexless life. Just get on it. But it happens to so many.

That father was a philosophy professor, for whom thinking and books were his whole life. How distressing do you want it to be. When he can no longer stay at home, a humiliating search follows hospitals and nursing homes. Then the woman meets a married man with children and starts an affair with him. And then the daughter also starts to show strange behavior. How much drama do you want. But it's certainly not a heavy film.

There are still small events that keep you on the edge of your seat. beautiful music and beautiful photography. And certainly not gloomy, because there will always be another beautiful morning. Although, the reference to the title is revealed only very casually in subordinate clauses. So pay attention.
