Fame should have been a movie full of music, dance and drama...
Unfortunately, the latter has the upper hand.
I must say that the dance scenes they show are very nicely put together.
Musically I am a little less to speak. The soundtrack is also not very original.
In terms of acting there are a number of good actors among them, but not all of them (let me keep it to the worst and that's Malik).
The story is not very special and regularly leaves you with an empty feeling.
They race through all the years, leaving behind unfinished storylines and undeveloped characters.
This is really very unfortunate, here are some examples:
The boy who wanted to jump in front of the train!! Well, it is stopped ... but what next? Also the boy who was pissed off by the producer and lost all his money....how to tell your dad? The girl who will play in Sesame Street also slowly disappears from the set, without any text and explanation after the conversation with the director of the school.
These were just one but examples of many that have passed through the film.
The final show was nice, but certainly not very high-quality like you get in Honey, Step Up, Stomp the yard.
What this film is good at is capturing beautiful images while dancing....some time warped thrown in here and there but not too exaggerated.
All in all, it's not the movie I expected. The film certainly has its low points, but also a few pluses that make it bearable to watch.
Still, this film doesn't get more than a 2.5*

I've never seen the original, but it really can't be worse than this remake. I found it really boring. Also the dancing, singing etc could not interest me at all. The scenes did not form a whole. There were parts in the movie where I wondered what they were doing in the movie.
