The Pope's Exorcist plot
"Inspired by the actual files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican."
Biographical film about the life and work of Gabriele Amorth, a priest who also acted as the main exorcist in the service of the Vatican. It is a film adaptation of his memoir, in which the viewer is made a witness of Amorth's many exorcisms performed. Amorth, in his opinion, actually went into battle with Satan and his demons and thus delivered the alleged victims of the devil from the grip of evil.

It's a fun movie, beautifully filmed, nicely over the top. I'm always allowed to do that, I should have even gone a little further now and then. All in all, we had an entertaining time at the cinema
3 stars, 2.5 stars for entertainment and quality, half because I really liked Russell in this role

A very strong and good film with a different angle with information that is more refreshing, the tension and atmosphere are certainly good. And that also makes it a long time since a good exorcist movie has been released, I wouldn't be surprised and it would be nice if sequels were made of it. A good movie in my opinion. Some movie genres just have to deliver what they stand for and this is one of those movies. You expect an exorcist movie and you get it. Of course with all the clichés that come along, but with a lot of humor and well filmed. Add to that a very well playing Russell Crowe and you will have a great time.
