Hollywood leftovers.

I recognize Carrie, I know what you did last summer, even Jennifer's body (although of course it appeared later) and April's fools. But there are many other titles that can join. Resulting in all sorts of things, but in the end just not at all.

The story follows the same path as any other uninspired monstrosity, constantly firing clichés at your ears and contains wonderfully unnatural dialogues that are full of stupidity. No horror movie can do without, right? However, it is completely lacking in atmosphere, it has absolutely no nice kills (not to mention the way everything is set up and portrayed) and the ending completely misses the mark, what nonsense.

Was hoping for a 'nice' snack, but even this uninspired print (or rather mishmash) cannot meet that requirement.

I'm not really a fan of incorporating witchcraft and black magic into a movie. But yes, I knew that in advance, so I don't let this influence me too hard when judging this film. Apart from the witchcraft, it is of course a standard horror film. But that's not really a bad thing, because in the end the film is quite entertaining. There are some good horror scenes in it (like Roger's suicide) and there is certainly not bad acting.

Meh.

Movies like this always raise questions. Apparently we have to believe that Dewan undergoes a sexy transformation, but in principle the only difference she gets is that she takes off her glasses and changes clothes. Sounds like little transformation, just a different style choice.

As far as the film itself is concerned, it is very clearly a product from the 2000s. All very cheesy and a big punch of nonsense fills the film as a whole. I don't really see topics like witchcraft and black magic anymore in high school settings, especially in today's times. Back then, things like that were a bit more popular, I got the idea.

Acting is pretty crap and the murders, although sometimes creative, are disappointing. It's all a bit clumsily put together, and although this sum can come across as charming, it still remains tossed to the surface. The rescue is mainly Dewan himself, who has a pretty iconic appearance. Requires little effort to keep eyes on the screen.

All in all, it's not terrible. It all looks nice and the elements are connected in a rather funny (but messy) way. Between the large amounts of dredging, this film is not that bad, but that does not alter the fact that it has sunk considerably in its time. It won't surprise me that movies like Tamara are completely forgotten within 10 years or so.
