Pretty average story in which a group of teenagers are mercilessly killedwhile they are driving around in a camper. There are a number of clichés and fairly stereotypical characters, the script is sometimes a bit thick, not everything is equally logical and some coincidences are not avoided. Fortunately, that is more often the case in a horror, so this does not cause me any huge frustrations. In terms of effects I had expected a bit more because that bird of prey and the explosions did not look very believable. Thanks to the pleasant atmosphere, it has become a great viewer.

Not for everyone, but film perfectly delivers what it promises.

Fairly fast and smooth opening, with cool characters, enough humor and many subtle and less subtle shots of legs, buttocks and breasts to keep it interesting. We meet a group of friends who are going on a trip through Ireland as a reunion. When they run over an old fortune teller, she has just enough breath left to curse them before she dies.

The horror comes in Roadkill from two sides. On one side, there's the gigantic bird chasing the friends. This makes for some nice kills and cool moments. The monster itself is of course insanely broken, but it would be a disappointment if that were not the case. On the other hand, there is the family of the murdered woman, a gang of hillbillies who seek revenge and are interested in the medallion that has been taken from them. This ensures the better scenes, especially at the first meeting, with gritty visuals, a strange atmosphere and great camera work. Think Calvaire, but diluted it a good hundred times.

All in all, pretty cool, then. Absolutely not to be taken seriously, but there is plenty to laugh about and some shots were even beautiful. Nice binoculars.

Tight 3*

Watched today, this horror movie had a bit of a Wrong Turn vibe to it, a bunch of youngsters in a camper van being attacked by a big bird on the way.

Along the way they occasionally stop and meet a family (looked like some of the Hillbillies from Wrong Turn).

It was a nice addition to the film this family, but too little was done with it.

The bird was still nicely made, the kills were reasonable, never really got gore or tension.

All in all, I thought it was a pretty boring film where something happened now and then, but lacked a bit more action and tension.
