With the 'gem' Ozone! Attack of the Redneck Mutants was still very fresh in our minds last night but we started with Redneck Zombies. And the same talk applies here too; for those who have a thing for absurd and amateurish rubbish full of raunchy, gross and cheap effects and ridiculous acting, Redneck Zombies is a very good one.

Still, this movie was a lot more fun than the aforementioned title, despite the many similarities. The humor in particular is something that makes this film very special. A number of characters are really funny (that gay soldier and that fat drunk, who doesn't say a word in the entire film, especially) and the dialogues are also very dry and fun in places. Anyway, no matter how you look at it; of course the film remains ridiculously bad and every scene just screams 'amateurism'. Yet die-hard fans (the only audience a film like this will appeal to) will undoubtedly enjoy this Troma work, which (fortunately) does not take itself seriously for a moment!

Difficult to think of a suitable score for this. Just keep it at 2 stars for now.

Troma, you either love it or hate it. I actually like it, but this really disappointed me. Saw the trailer 3 times and loved it. They even made fun of one of the greatest horror films in history by saying in the trailer It makes Dawn of the Dead look like marry poppins. Then back to the film. Acting was crap. Normally this doesn't bother me, but in some scenes there was so much mumbling that you could barely hear what they were actually saying. Furthermore, the sound did not match the image. I don't know if that was due to my DVD or if it was due to the low budget of the film. Furthermore, I found the first 45 minutes to be deadly boring. Only the parts with that incredible fat guy were funny. I also thought the image of the chick factory was unnecessary. Then the positive things. Stuff? Make that a thing, because the only nice thing about this film is the gore, which just looks nice and low-budget and nice and dirty. That is the only thing where this film scores points with me. 2* for the delicious gore.
