Mediocre first part but a very strong ending! After a while had trouble watching the film because of the ugly camera work and cliché story. Fortunately, because the ending was surprising. The film is not beautiful and very dark, but this is part of the setting of the film. Some gore scenes every now and then. The story becomes clearer as the film progresses, but not all things become clear. Very mysterious but thought it was a great movie by the end!

3.25/3.5*

Pretty good movie. A bit of an Alien(s) rip off maybe. In my opinion this one looks more like movie 2 in the Alien series. There is quite a bit of action and sometimes even quite brutal (to the horror). It's still a bit mysterious how it all works, but that's what I like about this film. It doesn't explain too much or too little. Good actors, maybe no A-rollers, but that's a good thing. The action is good, the opponents scary, who can be trusted and who can't? Yes Nice.

Half.

Pandorum could have been a really great film, because the content of the film was also quite strong. Director Alvart shows himself to be a talent, but works just a little too eagerly. He puts a lot of effort into the visual aspect of the film, as well as the story itself. He forgets that a whole lot of other elements also matter.

It still opens nicely. The cast appears to be good at first glance, but it soon becomes apparent that Alvart doesn't give them room to act well. They still try with all their might to put down good acting performances with emotion and all the man, but it makes little sense. Few good roles, even Foster and Gigandet don't know what to do with their characters.

Fortunately, the movie looks good. It should be clear that there is money in the film, and Alvart handles it well. Nice sets, very strong cinematography too. The effects are certainly there, and thanks to an energetic way of filming I have little to complain about the pace of the film. The 108 minutes aren't exactly a problem, but it's a shame the film can't be above average in all areas.

The tension in particular is very moderate, and if we look at the horror side of the film, we can quickly see that there is little to experience. Very boring monsters, but the soundtrack can't support the film either. The constant noise of the film ensures that the thriller aspect never works. Just making noise and hoping it scares people, I don't think it's particularly effective.

It leans on a nice story, but it is a pity that it is all thrown through it a bit. The look of the film is beautiful, the story is nice, but the acting is mediocre and so are the characters. If Alvart had also bet on good tension, it would of course have been better. The many plot twists also add too little. Semi-successful movie.
