Worthless,

The story is exactly the same as part 1, where part 2 was a direct sequel, partly because of the characters. I really got annoyed with some of the characters in this movie, they couldn't act for a meter and the script was also lousy. Camera work and editing were really too bad for words, I don't know what the intention was with those flashy images, but it just works against me. What I didn't like at all was that the killer isn't human, which he was in the earlier parts. It didn't get scary or exciting anywhere, it's that I didn't fall asleep but it was close.

It is a pity that after this film no more sequels were made in this film series. Not because of the quality, but was very curious how many titles they could come up with. This is now the last film of a trilogy, although you can think of this for a large part as a kind of reboot/remake; same story but with new characters. The events in the previous two films are briefly mentioned somewhere. But then it turns out that villain Ben Willis from the previous two films is again the fisherman with the hook, but this time he's a zombie fisherman. Hilarious. And very moronic.

That twist only comes out during the last few minutes of the film, but any optimists with a glimmer of hope that I'll Always Know is still a great horror film with only a dumb ending will be disappointed. The film is incredibly poorly made in every way. The acting is even more depressing than in the previous two films, the script seems to be put together on the spot during filming and the characters are stupid and drowsy. In addition, they come up with an extremely hip, flashy montage à la the remake of Thirteen Ghosts of Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers. Whether it is applied here to be hip or to hide that the maker has no sense of timing I leave it up to you, but it is extremely annoying. I'll Always Know is a nasty, hideous turd.

Author Lois Duncan of the book I Know What You Did Last Summer was already upset that her book was being turned into a slasher movie. Would she have seen I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer? She is still turning in her grave. She might even come out. With hook and fishing hat.

1 star.
