Mediocre.. I didn't think it was bad.. the zombies were convincing.. most of Romero's other zombie movies are a lot worse, so I was prepared for the worst.

That thing with that camera all the time: who keeps lugging around with a camera when you know there are zombies everywhere.. they were even in TOKYO
...and that you take a long bath, get attacked by a zombie and then electrocute yourself anyway.. jesus man ... I immediately locked myself in that panic-room (one floor below)

Seen it a long time ago, was in the review last week. My friend, a zombie fanboy, wanted to see all the -'Dead' movies again. No sooner said than done.

Diary of the Dead isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but still clearly one of the worst movies. Nowhere really interesting, The zombies didn't do much for me either. The beginning was quite disturbing, the middle part got better and better and then it went back to the level from the beginning. Unfortunately.

A zombie movie is like a pizza; when it's it's good, and when it's bad it's still pretty good is my take on zombie movies. Even a mediocre film can still appeal to me if the characters are nice and the kills good. But this product is not good, just say that this pizza is spoiled.

It already goes wrong with the 'handheld' thing. Often such an approach has a realistic something, and you are closer to it. But too often these kinds of movies turn into a source of irritation between characters leading to arguments and behavior and reactions that are totally irrelevant. So here again with that stupid talk, stupid dialogues against the camera and fights that don't matter. A normal person turns off the camera if he gets hit, in addition, someone is attacked several times and the man with the camera does nothing, he just stands and film.

Add to that some retarded dialogue, characters that are completely uninteresting, choices and events that hit rock bottom, and the film is unbridgeable with some ridiculous moments around the deaf Amish as a highlight. And dant despite a few humorous kills.

No, this is by far the least of Romero. Its a shame, but there is nothing to do about it.
