Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return plot

"The Latest & Most Horrifying Chapter..."

Years have passed since the horrific events in Gatlin. Hannah Martin is on her way to Gatlin to visit her real mother. Along the way, she picks up a stranger who predicts her future based on Bible texts. Arriving in Gatlin, she encounters a strange community that has grown up around the buried memories of a black cult. A handful of former members still believe in the bizarre cult and that when all members of the second generation are united, a new race will emerge. With the arrival of Hannah, Isaac sees his chance to revive the cult and make his dark prophecies come true.

What a bolt movie, that's all I can say! Part 1 was and is great, I haven't seen the rest, but this part can't even be in the shadow of part 1. Miss...

John Franklin, that kid with a growth problem, was the most memorable thing about that first Children of the Corn. The best man got little work after that, so in the late 1990s he decided to write a script himself for a sequel to Children of the Corn. It's all this sixth Children of the Corn has to offer; the return of the bad guy from part 1. But unfortunately, very little interesting is done with it and Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return is perhaps the most worthless of all the parts. In terms of quality, it is in no way inferior to the previous parts in the series, but it is an incredibly boring mess, with an unnecessarily confusing script and dull characters. Stacy Keach as a doctor is still somewhat entertaining and, to be honest, there is not much wrong with leading actress Natalie Ramsey. But other than that, you rarely get your horror films as lifeless and boring as Children of the Corn 666. In that respect, this franchise is perfect for limbo dancing; No matter how low the bar is, a sequel will still easily pass it.

1.5 stars.

Director Kari Skogland is now very active in the television world, but before that she conducted part of the COTC series. The title suggests that as a whole it should represent some kind of conclusion, but in the meantime three more parts have been added. Bringing back John Franklin was a brilliant move (Isaac Chroner is still a quirky and unique character), but the structure is lacking and the finale hits like a pair of pliers on a pig. The graphic murders that gave the previous parts some extra are also barely present here. The direction is nevertheless a bit more experimental and seems to make a more sincere attempt to raise the level, but Skogland is strongly hampered by the extremely substandard script. When the film ended it was only noticeable how much they had neglected their stronger elements. The worst part of the series so far.
