Very nice sequel, which in terms of atmosphere sometimes vaguely reminded me of children's films such as Home Alone or youthful adventure films. The horror or horror level is therefore not exactly high, but it is all great fun.

Chucky is another wonderfully foul-mouthed bastard.

And what a fantastic ending this film has!

Nice that Netflix is once again broadcasting such an old, slightly less well-known classic.

3.5*

Same second part.

This part can still be called a nice sequel in a series that may never have been the best horror series in terms of quality, but it is an entertaining one. Chucky's upside is that it was the quintessential nightmare extra for kids. This doll terrified the public and played with the concept of scary dolls. So nostalgia.

Chucky remains an imposing doll, and Dourif has also become a legendary actor when he took on the voice of Chucky. That roaring laugh is one that stays with you forever once you hear it, and this part also brings an abundance of fun to it. Chucky remains a delightfully vulgar, highly entertaining appearance who may not be too scary anymore, but is and will remain charming nonetheless.

Visually it is all a bit less. The murders may sometimes still be nice and graphic and the build-up to those scenes is extremely intriguing, but otherwise it all feels a bit colorless. Cinematographically, the film is not very interesting, except that some scenes are still supported with creditable camera work. Sometimes fresh movements, but that's where it ends.

It is all predictable, but in the end it remains just a horror sequel of the simplest caliber. Director Lafia obviously didn't direct this part with the aim of making the best horror film ever, and it shows. It's a shame that this project isn't too ambitious in that regard, but hey, it's still popcorn entertainment.

Great sequel in a series that eventually went in a completely different direction. I don't like the pure comedies of the series, these parts that are really more focused on the horror itself remain the funnier parts as far as I'm concerned. It lacks some tension and visual power, but the entertainment level is nice and high and that continues to count.

Saw this movie when I was very young. Now seen again at 49. Still very nice. While I think part 1 is much better. I haven't seen that one in a long time either. This was in a thrift store for 1 euro.

No regrets at all. In any case, this movie is much better than the new remake. The doll must simply be a doll and may walk and move woodenly. In the new movie they use CGI. So bad.

The ending is nice too. Nice and coarse.
