Movie for the boring asshole. People who appreciate this are bad in bed, sports, dancing, cooking, in fact everything except working from 9 to 5. This film is predictable in everything. Grab your bingo card because all unsolicited origin stories will come along. How did he meet Lando, how did the Falcon become his, how did he meet Chewie! I've really never wondered about it and now that I know how it came about, I only have 1 thought; I couldn't care less.

Totally unnecessary and at times boring action film without original angles. Now I'm really not a Star Wars fanatic, but just about all prequels and origin stories would have no raison d'être if it weren't for the original trilogy.
And that's kind of the problem with Solo (and all those other afterbirths): it relies too much on what's already there. It has no character of its own, it does not stand alone and in no way manages to create something that will become as popular as the original trilogy. No nice bad guys, no fascinating set pieces, grotesque action scenes that don't make sense, annoying droids... It just doesn't have much of a body that really stands out.
Alden Ehrenreich did a decent job by the way and is reasonably charismatic, but otherwise quite boring and humorless written. Harrison Ford's Han Solo was just a little more dirty bad boy.
Emilia Clarke was mediocre to me. She was pretty cringe in GoT at times, but I haven't seen a single film yet in which she could really convince me.
