Slightly disappointing. Most of the kids in the film acted, as Jordy said, T...ehhh... not that good. Every now and then I couldn't help but relax the corners of my mouth and bare my teeth, but other than that it didn't do much for me... 2.5*

Childish family film about a know-it-all kid who one day decides to look to God for some answers. A remarkable concept that can be educational when it comes to the combination between children and religion, but the screenplay by M. Night Shyamalan hardly addresses it. Instead, a fairly half-baked family drama with a lot of sentimental moments that can hardly be taken seriously due to the corny choice of music, and Joseph Cross's acting is not the kind to write home about. The film is not completely devoid of nice moments and some supporting roles perform more than decently, but in principle it is not much more than a complicated concept that deserved better development. Shyamalan remains fairly neutral in his substantive approach with regard to religion, so fortunately the viewer is spared a preachy tone.
