Pluk van de Petteflet plot

One fine day, a small red tow truck drives under the gate of the Petteflet, with a boy of about eight at the wheel. It is Pluk and he is looking for a house to live in. Dollie the pigeon tells him that the tower room on top of the Petteflet is empty. In the Petteflet Pluk gets to know a number of apartment residents and their problems. Such as Mrs. Helderder with her daughter Aagje, Mr. Pen from the shop at the bottom of the flat and father Stamper with his five sons. Pluk discovers that the Torteltuin is going to be destroyed, so that all the houses of the animals will also disappear. Pluk comes up with a plan to save the Torteltuin, but does he succeed?

Pluk, fantastic book and then such a movie. Pfft. I'm sure it was meant for the kids, but I couldn't watch it with those plush animals. Also annoying acting and ugly filmed. 0.5*.

always nice to read reviews on movies. Too bad that CHILDREN don't give reviews here but only adults who behave like children (a lot then). If a film is made for children, watch it from that perspective and don't start whining about bad acting and annoying voices. 9 out of 10 kids like this movie. Mine too. If you really want to see a film in which it is well acted, then do not watch children's films, because if they are well acted, there is nothing more for the children!

I'll give it 5 stars to compensate for some stupid posts like mjk87's

Great movie, considering the presumably low budget. It seems to me, if you didn't know the book, it would be almost impossible to tie a rope to it. I have read this book to my five year old son twice. We now watched the film for the first time and that was a feast of recognition. The tow truck, hermit, pistils, Zaza the cockroach, Langhors the horse, and the back and forth werewolf were those moments. The birds (Dollie, Karel and the curly barge) were slightly less successful. The whole thing looked like a long episode of Sesame Street. Plus points were the design of the colorful flat, the costumes and hairstyles and the appearance of Jack Wouterse as the fries-baking Vader Stampertje. I didn't find the acting bad so much (although Erica Terpstra as mayor and Paul Hoes as park architect were not really well cast), but the songs that did not come out very well and the fact that the script (substantially adjusted compared to the book) was rushed towards the end and was cohesive of incoherence.
