Ukikusa plot
Remake of Ozu's own Ukigusa Monogatari (1934). When a traveling theater troupe arrives in a southern Japanese village, the group's leader, Komajuro Arashi, visits his former girlfriend and their son Kiyoshi, who thinks Komajuro is his uncle. However, the actress Sumiko, Komajuro's current girlfriend, becomes jealous and manages to get the younger actress Kayo to try to seduce Kiyoshi.
