"Don't be afraid to love," says Mina, the wife, towards the end of the film when she struggles to eat another tangerine.

Cautious and careful (the two words with which you can characterize this film), the hands of the clothing maker Halim caress a soft fabric in the opening scene. Hands that will return as a motif in the film, as the fabric will be literally embodied by human skin and metaphorically by the peel of a tangerine.

Carefully and carefully, the hands and eyes of the wife, her husband and the apprentice tailor tell the fragile story of the three of them and of an invisible father - "he must have been proud of you," suggests Youssef, the apprentice.

I completely went along with it, especially with Mina, the wife, the thread of the story, although she is less in the picture than her husband. And I broke twice, inevitably.

A masterpiece? Not quite. Suffice it to say that the caution is unfortunately broken a few times in scenes that could easily have been deleted. So be it, and be it director Maryam Touzani forgiven. She presented the viewer with a gold-lined, blue caftan that touches the heart.

After a invasive medical procedure, Mina [Lubna Azabal] wants to make sure that her husband Halim [Saleh Bakri] can keep the clothing business they built together without her. They go in search of an apprentice and seem to find it in the talented Youssef [Ayoub Missioui], who quickly develops a strong bond with Mina, but especially with Halim. Touzani follows up the masterly Adam with yet another film about a social issue that she approaches with empathy, respect, but also with a pleasant touch of humour. The acting performances are again of a very high level and at least a lump in the throat is guaranteed during the moving denouement.

Nice film that has some good points but also starts to drag and sometimes puts in too much drama. Anyway, the central duo Azabal and Bakri are very strong with good chemistry and their relationship is really alive. Beautifully captivating by Bakri and energetic by Azabal. The young Messioui is a bit disappointing then; he stays too much on the surface with his interpretation. Visually very solid but nothing very special. Sometimes it's nice to focus on all kinds of materials, fabrics and handicrafts, but that doesn't bring much news. I often watch videos about making clothes and this film actually adds nothing to that point. Especially towards the end it all started to take a bit too long for my feeling. 3.0*.
