"No man left behind."
Reaper is an Air Force drone pilot supporting a special mission in the southern Philippines. After the mission goes horribly wrong, a rescue team, led by Sugar and Abel, is once again deployed to the battlefield to retrieve their people, now held hostage. They are joined by Kinney, an Air Force officer. Like their eyes, Reaper keeps his drone sharp, but it suddenly turns into a full-scale battle when the team is discovered by the enemy. While the soldiers are hunted in enemy territory, Reaper goes to great lengths to get everyone to safety.

A dime a dozen war film in which a group of four soldiers prematurely opens fire and ends up in a cat and mouse game. I don't know which movie it was, but this has certainly been done before and probably more than once.

First 40 minutes great, exciting, beautiful shots and environments.
Action beautifully depicted.
After that the film completely goes off the rails and unfortunately becomes less and less, resulting in a predictable ending.
Visually also a big mistake in the film: During the first evacuation attempt shots of two different types of helicopters are used. (Huey and a Blackhawk) A huge blunder.
What Crowe was looking for in this film had no idea.
He doesn't enjoy his role at all.
Due to the strong first part, it was just a passing grade.

Small disappointment. Land of Bad is a fairly standard Hollywood cinema film with very little depth and a concept that we have seen before (Behind Enemy Lines).
It's a shame that Liam is the one who has to carry the film, because I don't think he's much more than a walking six-pack. But even a fine actor like Milo Ventimiglia falls into insignificance here because there is simply 0.0 depth to it.
The action is nice, and sometimes even quite brutal. Hence a neat 3.0*. But honestly expected more.
