Shame plot
Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a thirty-something living in New York who struggles to control his sex life. He is addicted to pornography and this makes it difficult for him to form real relationships with women. Only one woman can really get close to him: his quirky, younger sister Sissy (Carey Mulligan). Brandon may be pretending to live a normal life in public, but Sissy knows better. When she moves in with him in his apartment, Brandon's life spirals out of control. After all, brother and sister bring out the worst in each other.

The movie is better than expected. The director gives it a somewhat depressive brushed tone and for me actor Michael Fassbender has always been a good actor but with little spirit. And that comes in handy now. Fortunately, Carey Mulligan provides the necessary balance. Interesting film, although more could have been done with it. Not enough to become a real top film.

This movie didn't touch me. I really liked the scenes with a different storyline. The bond that brother-sister had with each other was also incomprehensible. Very strange band that I just couldn't sympathize with.
Moreover, too little attention has been paid to the events from their past, which is why they had such a bad relationship. I had a lot of questions and thought that everything could have been a little more detailed. No, nothing for me.

A strong film, about the lonely and empty existence of Brandon. An image of a destructive life as a result of his sex addiction. He lives in a vicious circle, is constantly looking for superficial satisfaction, but as soon as emotions come into play, it no longer works. Good role by Fassbender, but the other players are also strong. His sister shows a similar picture, superficial sex does not always make you happy, because in the end you are looking for more depth in your life. That eventually becomes clear at the dramatic end of the film.....
