Joey Evans (Frank Sinatra) is handsome, charming and funny, in short, a real lady killer. He puts his dear friend Linda (Kim Novak) aside for the elderly but wealthy widow Vera (Rita Hayworth). Joey gets to run Vera's nightclub and seems to have it all figured out. Then Vera is blackmailed and Joey has to show his worth for the first time in his life.

Charming, innocent, romantic and also a successful film with Frank Sinatra as in real life: a live saloon singer, infatuated with feminine beauty.
The video is of course with the beautiful evergreens that Frank performed in his best Capitol years: "There's a small hotel", "I could wright a Book"... and one of his favorite songs "The Lady is a Tramp".
The combination of Sinatra-Hayworth with the rising star of Kim Novak worked wonderfully.
Wonderful musical relaxation.

Frank Sinatra must choose between Kim Novak (sex symbol of the 1950s) and old flame Rita Hayworth (sex symbol of the 1940s) and the three stars sing, to alternate the innuendo and other exchanges, classics such as The Lady is a Tramp, Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered and don't forget My Funny Valentine. A perfect vehicle for the stars and George Sidney seemingly effortlessly delivers a musical comedy that delivers nothing less (but also not much more) than you expect: Hayworth has rarely been as sexy as when she sings 'Bewitched...' and Kim Novak does it even a striptease! And Frank's natural charm will undoubtedly melt women's hearts. Nothing wrong with that, I think.

Frank Sinatra has enough charisma to keep me interested for a movie. And it is no different here. Moreover, The Lady is a Tramp features a real jazz classic. And his co-stars Kim Novak and Rita Hayworth are also like pages from the Hollywood song book. For me, there is a complete lack of chemistry between Sinatra and Novak. How they viewed it at that time... Hayworth does a bit better, although she certainly has a more interesting role than Novak. Furthermore, it is fun to see San Francisco in the 1950s. Quite an entertaining film. And say that Kim Novak is still with us in 2023.
