"When the family of man was still--- a family."
The story of a year in the life of poor Italian farmers at the beginning of the last century. Several families live on the land of a wealthy owner, who likes to interfere in their lives. He pays them according to productivity. When one of the families turns out to have a very intelligent child, they decide to send him to school, which means a great sacrifice for the family.
